The TIP31 is an NPN transistor in a TO−220 type package designed for general purpose amplifier and switching applications. It has a high gain of 50, a collector continuous current of 3A, and a Collector-Emitter voltage of 60V. The base current for the TIP31 transistor is about 1A and the Emitter base voltage is 5V.
